State-Of-The-Art Resources

In many respects, the ICT resources that our children use, and the way in which they are deployed, represent the state-of-the-art. (In case you're wondering why an Infant school has made such a heavy investment in this area, please skip to the bottom of this page!)

Unlike the majority of schools, we have had Interactive Whiteboards in EVERY classroom for many years. This means that:

  • our teachers use the latest teaching and learning tools confidently and spontaneously across the curriculum, not just during ICT lessons;
  • everyone can see and discuss the material at the same time;
  • images from our digital devices (microscope, camera, video etc) can be displayed easily enabling, for example, the fruits of an outing to be viewed and discussed immediately;
  • our teachers have at their fingertips the means to display just the right video clip, package or tool to support their lessons;
  • through a very intuitive user interface, the children themselves can take a lead in explaining their work and demonstrating their understanding;
  • our teachers can save the screen images allowing them review work from previous lessons in order to build on ideas over a number of lessons.

  We have up-to-date desktop pcs and printers in all of our classrooms and, in addition,

we have a mobile suite of 16 laptops that can be taken anywhere, even outdoors!
